Clear Stamp Adventure

I have a confession: I am a stamp snob. I prefer Stampin' Up stamps. When I started making cards, I really thought clear stamps were the cheap step cousins of wood mount stamps and could not work as well as "the real thing". Imagine my shock and surprise when my sister in-law (are you noticing a trend) introduced me to clear stamps. I kind of fell in love and realized each kind of stamp has their place. Clear stamps really stamp awesome and crisp in a way that wood mounts don't.

Well, last night I was making a card for my "other daughter". Let me explain, Sammy has been part of our lives for 5 years, my oldest daughter's best friend. Sometimes it seems as if she has always been part of our family. She just slipped right into our home years ago and we have never looked back. Here is the stamp I was using. When I was done, I washed it and laid it out on a towel to dry. This morning I went looking for it and it was GONE. I looked and looked and could not find it. I was worried that it got knocked into the trash. So, I even looked there. Nope, no little stamp. I called my husband who was about to board a plane to ask if he saw it when he was getting ready to leave but he said no it was not sitting there when he left. Poor little stamp: lost!!

Lo and behold a few minutes later my 10 year old called me and said, "Mom, I think I found your stamp." Yep, there it was on the bottom of her coffee (tea, actually) cup. When I got hot water for her tea I must have sat the cup on the stamp and it clung to the bottom.

Here is Sammy's completed card: Happy Birthday girly.
